Your quest is to stop a Blight of undead creatures spreading and evil curse
of Immortality. The game ends when the last zombie is destroyed and the Blight extinguished.
You begin the game with one point for every living person in the
world. You lose a point for every soul that falls to the Blight.
In a cooperative multi-player game your final score will be the
total remaining population when the Blight is extinguished, divided
by the number of players, plus one point for each zombie you
destroy.
Everybody loses if the Blight spreads out of control, so work closely with your
allies to insure the coins and armies of all players are put to best use.
There is no perfect strategy in Blight of the Immortals and the best
way to learn is to jump in and see what happens. There
are tool tips on many of the games interfaces, don't be afraid to
click around and explore.

Blight of the Immortals is a slow real-time strategy game.
Throughout the day, hordes of zombies will move randomly from province to
province infecting them with the Blight.
You must login in once or twice a day and command your armies to intercept
and destroy the undead hordes.
Your armies will automatically fight enemies they meet and free the blighted
locations they visit. You'll get a report of all the things that occur while you are away.
Check back throughout the day to watch the progress of your armies as they slowly march from
province to province, expanding your kingdom and waging war on the undead.
Note: In single player games you may jump forward 6 hours at a
time whenever you are ready. In turn-based multiplayer games time
only progresses in 12 hour intervals when all players indicate
they are ready.

A combat is automatically fought when two enemies meet on a road or at a
province.
Every army in the game has a Hero Level and a Strength which determines how well it fights.
Opposing armies roll a number of dice equal to its Level, and adds the total to its Strength. The army with
the largest total wins and the loser is destroyed.
The winner suffers the losers total score in casualties and its strength is reduced.
Some casualties are prevented by the roll of the winners dice, so the higher an army's level, the less casualties they will receive.

An army earns an experience point for each point of damage it
inflicts. When enough experience points are earned an army will level
up and will roll more dice in future combats.
When more than one army is camped at the same location, the largest
army will fight first. Then all smaller armies will fight in turn
until only your armies, or the enemies armies remain.
When defending a fortified position, the largest army will receive a
bonus to their initial attack score and further casualties will be
prevented.
Zombies never receive fortification bonus.
In the example
above, the Fay army has moved into Undercaster which is fortified.
While defending Undercaster, the fay army will receive +10 to its
total combat score, and suffer 10 less casualties.

Each location on the map is home to one of the many people of Alundria.
When a province becomes a part of your Kingdom you can recruit the creatures
that live there. You might have Orc, Elf and Human armies all fighting alongside one another.
Each army has its own strengths and weaknesses. Many armies have special skills
or magic that can be used to improve the abilities of other armies or hinder the
growth of plague. Explore the map and recruit armies that complement one another.
When a location falls to the Blight, zombies of the creatures that once lived
there will there rise to spread the curse.
Zombies often hold magical abilities similar to those of their living
counterparts. You should study the abilities of a zombie horde before attacking
it.
Once a day, you may collect taxes from each province in your Kingdom.
You may then spend these taxes raising new troops, improving the
markets and fortifications of your cities, or activating the special
abilities of your armies.
There are 6 currencies in the land of Alundria and each province pays
its taxes in the currency used by its people. The more provinces you
have in your Kingdom, the more coins you will collect each day.
Capture provinces by simply moving your armies into them. Armies
automatically fight enemies they meet, and conquer enemy locations
they visit. If you move into a friendly province you will help
defend it. In free games your are always allied with the other
players and at war with the zombies.
The colored roads between locations indicate which player controls
a province. A stack of coins show the size of its
market, and the amount and color of coins that will be collected
each day. The gray borders around a province indicate the size of
its fortifications. An icon below a province indicates
there are new troops ready to join your army's at that location.

You can improve the income you receive from a province by upgrading its Markets.
Improve the combat bonus provided by a province by building greater
Fortifications.
Recruit new armies by selecting a location in the map and paying the required
coins. Reinforcing existing armies is cheaper than recruiting new ones.
Reinforcements may take several hours to reach their assigned army depending on
how far away they are.
You can only raise troops a province once a day, look for icons
below a province to indicate whether or not fresh troops are
available for reinforcements.
There is no limit to the size of your armies, keep reinforcing them to meet the
growing undead menace.
At the start of the game it can be wiser to expand your Kingdom by bribing
independent nations to join you. Look for armies with interesting
powers or that are defending fortifications as these can be
difficult to take by force alone.
The first thing you should do each time you login is check your
Inbox. It provides a summary of all the events that have taken place
while you were away, the battles your armies have fought and the
provinces you have captured.
You might also receive diplomatic messages from other players who
need help defending their kingdoms or wishing to trade coins. Up to 4 times a day you
may trade coins, armies and provinces with allied Kings. If you
can't make effective use of a precious resource, trade it with
somebody who can.
Remember, nobody wins if the Blight spreads out of control. You must work with
the other Kings to keep the undead plague under control.
